Chef James Carn

James Carn can currently be found cooking at Pea Porridge in Bury St Edmunds as well as doing various pop-up supper clubs across Suffolk.

Previously, James has overseen the kitchens at the Angel Hotel in Bury St Edmunds, The Pack Horse in Moulton and All Saints Hotel.

In 2016 he won Suffolk chef of the year!

James is also very active with his local community, lecturing at West Suffolk College and he runs classes throughout the year, as well as volunteering with ‘Passion To Inspire’ a college cooking competition, successfully mentoring the winning team for two consecutive years.

James is married with 3 young boys and spent the lockdown home-schooling, exploring the Suffolk countryside and exercising with them.


Adults and children take part in an amazing unique experience, away from the normal pressures of life.

These sessions are only available for families in receipt of free school meals.

The days run from 10:00-14:00 and include:-

  • Outdoor family activities 
  • Outdoor cooking class and lunch provided
  • Recipe book and videos
  • Food box for a family of 4
